Meet Mrs. Crook
|
Hello Students and Families!
My name is Mrs. Nishi Crook and I am excited to be your child's classroom teacher this year! I earned my teaching degree from Eastern Michigan University, go EMU! I graduated with a triple minor in Mathematics, Reading, and Integrated Sciences. I am certified to teach in both Michigan and Ohio. I had the pleasure of student teaching a 4/5 multi-age classroom at Burns Park Elementary with Ms. Sandy Kreger in 2012. I began my teaching career by teaching remedial math to 6-8th graders at Summit Academy North Middle school in Romulus. Then I moved to Ohio to teach 4th graders at Woodland Elementary School in Perrysburg, OH. The following year, I moved to Ann Arbor to teach a 4/5 multi-age classroom at Lakewood Elementary School. During 2015-2016, I had the pleasure of joining the Burns Park staff as a 3rd grade teacher. In 2016, I enjoyed looping with my class to 4th grade! The last two years, I had the pleasure of teaching fourth grade. Seven years ago, I was married to my wonderful and patient husband, Jarrid Crook. We enjoy reading, walking, and playing with our fur baby together. Painting and reading have always been some of my favorite hobbies, as well as dancing and solving brain teasers. This past summer I took my very first pottery class and I will definitely be signing up again to attend next summer! The newest addition to our family is Pepper, our 2 year old corgi! We have absolutely enjoyed this new experience. We have learned that she is very bright and spunky! Pepper loves to meet new people and have her tummy rubbed. She hopes to visit the class throughout the school year! Unless I beat you to it, if you see us around town you are always welcome to say hello. : ) Your Lucky Teacher, Mrs. Crook :) |
